Senior Accountant

Location: West Palm Beach, FL

Exuma Biotech is looking for another individual to share our passion for making a lasting difference in the fight against cancer.

The big picture is:

This position will report to the Controller and will manage the day-to-day accounting for the U.S. and Cayman Island operations as well as the financial consolidation of worldwide entities.  The Senior Accountant will oversee the processing of semi-monthly payroll, the month-end and quarter-end close, including the preparation and review of account reconciliations and journal entries. This position will interact with all other team members internally and with outside auditors.

Here are some of the responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and oversee accounting for U.S. and Cayman Island operations including GAAP Compliance, GL, AP, Payroll, and intercompany transactions
  • Prepare monthly U.S. financial statements and quarterly consolidated financials
  • Review and/or prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in support of monthly and quarterly close process
  • Reconcile / review bank statements and reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Interface with external auditors and prepare schedules for the annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants and prepare supporting schedules for the federal and state income tax returns
  • Prepare sales tax returns, property tax returns and other state or local tax filings
  • Assist in annual budget process
  • Maintain capitalization tables for all entities
  • Prepare accounting for share-based compensation and oversee the stock administration function

We are looking for candidates with this background and education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • CPA or sitting for CPA exam is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience, or MS degree plus the knowledge and skills acquired through 3 years’ relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll software, QuickBooks Online, E*Trade/Equity Edge, Microsoft Excel and Word, and Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Experience with consolidations and accounting for multiple companies / currencies is a plus
  • Experience in biotechnology industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Possesses planning and organizational skills
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and independently
