Dr. Ewa Jaruga-Killeen joined EXUMA Biotech as Director of North America Clinical Operations in June 2020. From 2013 to 2020, Dr. Jaruga-Killeen was at Intrexon Corp, where she was most recently involved in gene-device combination clinical studies for cardiovascular disease. From 2011 to 2013, Dr. Jaruga-Killeen served as a Scientist and Interim Operations Manager for the Orlando Health Medical Education Research and Training Center, conducting research on acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and in charge of planning and critical care research commercialization. Dr. Jaruga-Killeen was appointed Associate Professor in 2011 at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where she mentored interdisciplinary research teams in clinical and pre-clinical projects promoting evidence-based medicine with focus on applied physiology, molecular cell biology, biophysics, and statistics. Dr. Jaruga-Killeen earned her Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and M.Sc. in molecular biology from the University of Lodz in Poland, and is RAPS certified for the global regulation of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, including biologics and combination products, as well as the management of US clinical trials, risk management and ethics.
